Design & Pre-Print Production Of The Dublin Docklands Area Master Plan 2008 - Murray Ó Laoire Architects Acted As Lead Consultants and Urban Designers

Brian was employed at Murray O'Laoire Architects from October 1998 to March 2010. Primarily based in our Dublin office Brian provided essential marketing, web design and graphics material for our offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Moscow, Aachen, Bratislava, Abu Dhabi and Libya. His role entailed support to MOLA's general administration, on the marketing of the organisation and on various individual design projects and submissions, including regular work for our overseas offices.

During Brian's many years with us he showed excellent project management skills and continued to successfully take on additional responsibilities. Much of his worked was conducted under tight deadlines and I cannot remember in his 12 years with us a single occasion where he did not deliver a high quality product on time.

Brian's roles and responsibilities included:

  • Brian was central to the design, development and maintenance of the information architecture and the functional and aesthetic design of MOLA's public website and MOLA's intranet, F|OS. lt should be noted that the website that Brian set up was voted best architectural website in 2003 by the Sunday Business Post.
  • Responsible for the design, co-ordination, on-going development and accessibility of all marketing/submission material. This role required a wide range of skill sets including design, copywriting and editing, quality control, communication, team working and administration.
  • The design, development and implementation of a user-friendly interface for MOLA's Checkbook, the spine of MOLA's QA Procedures and Documention
  • Brian was also responsible for the design and development of a wide range of marketing brochures, newsletters and reports, as well as providing graphic support for various competitions and awards entries. All of which he carried out to a very high quality.
  • Training and support of new members of the graphic department
  • ldentity design and website design and development for Green Alliance Design, an lrish based international design team based in Tripoli, Libya.

Not withstanding all of the above Brian also collaborated closely with our urban design unit and architects in project based work and he contributed greatly to the design production and presentation of the following significant landmark projects.

  • Dublin Docklands Area Masterplan 2008
  • Masterplan of the Regeneration of St Mary's Park, Limerick
  • Titanic Quarter, Queen's lsland, Belfast
  • 'Visual' - National Centre for Contemporary Art, Carlow
